Strabismus Following Retinal Detachment Surgery

Arthur L. Rosenbaum, M.D.

Diagnosis and management of strabismus problems following retinal detachment surgery are a challenge for both the orthoptist and ophthalmologist. A mechanical restriction, muscle paresis, and sensory difficulties must be clearly differentiated. The orthoptist's role in understanding the contribution of induced torsion to the persistence of diplopia is critical.
