Measurement of the Field of Binocular Single Vision after Strabismus Surgery for Thyroid Ophthalmopathy Gregg T. Lueder, M.D. Stephen P. Kraft, M.D., F.R.C.S.C. Cynthia Burack, O.C.(C.)
Diplopia is a common sequela of acquired strabismus in adults. The goal of strabismus surgery in these patients is to restore binocular single vision over as wide a range as possible. A recently described method of testing and scoring the field of binocular single vision offers an objective way to quantify functional improvement in diplopic patients who undergo strabismus surgery. We illustrate the application of this method in a series of patients with thyroid ophthalmopathy.
