Consecutive Esotropia
Frederick J. Elsas, M.D.
A step-wise method for treating consecutive esotropia is presented. Usually, non-surgical treatment, including patching, hyperopic correction, anticholinesterase drops, and prisms should be continued for six months prior to suggesting additional surgery. When strabismus surgery is performed, care must be taken to eliminate restrictions and regain full ductions.
